Save Time With Convenient CEREC® Crowns

CEREC West Grove, PA

CEREC® crowns are becoming a tactic of choice for people to protect damaged teeth. Instead of taking several weeks to get protective crowns, you can do it all in one visit at the dentist’s office. This can benefit both the way you look and feel. You can also save a lot of time and effort by going this route.

What crowns can do for a smile

Crowns have long been a common way for dentists to restore smiles. Normally made of porcelain or ceramic, crowns can protect damaged teeth from becoming worse. Patients choose crowns when they have broken or cracked molars. A CEREC® crown will restore the full function of the mouth, allowing the patient to chew most foods without pain. Crowns will also stabilize a weak tooth. The dentist will also place crowns over a tooth after a root canal and to complement dental implants.

Traditional crowns vs. CEREC® crowns

The structure and makeup of these two types of crowns are similar. The process has some key differences, though. The patient must go to the dentist’s office two or three times to get a crown. At one appointment, the dentist takes X-rays and makes impressions. The dentist will also reshape the tooth and place a temporary crown over the affected tooth. In the meantime, a technician fabricates the permanent crown, which the patient receives a few weeks later.

CEREC crowns are made right at the dentist’s office during the one and only appointment. Instead of using putty in the mouth to make an impression, the dentist takes digital 3-D pictures. This goes to a computer and then to a milling unit. The machine creates a custom-made crown out of a ceramic block to fit over the damaged tooth. An assistant will paint the crown the desired color to match the natural teeth.

Less time and worry

Patients who need a crown could be in extreme pain or discomfort. Having to wait a few weeks for relief can be frustrating. No one likes to run back and forth to and from the dentist’s office more than necessary. Instead of multiple appointments, why not do it all in one trip? CEREC® crowns produce the same results in much less time.

Always natural-looking

A broken, cracked or decayed tooth can hamper a smile. A CEREC crown covers this blemish with what appears to be a natural tooth. The crown will be the same size, shape and color as the persons’ surrounding teeth. People with crowns should be able to eat most foods without worrying about breaking it.

A new smile without the hassle

If you are interested in getting a CEREC crown, you should speak to a dentist near you today. The convenient process of getting a same-day crown can help you achieve your goals of revamping your smile and appearance. Make an appointment today. Your one-time visit to the dentist’s office should only take about an hour. You will be happy with the results and your oral health.
